North American Stainless expanding in Carroll County, adding 70 new jobs

The largest stainless steel producer in the United States is in Carroll County, and it's getting even bigger thanks to a $244 million investment.

Soon, new equipment will start rolling into the massive, 4.4 million-square-foot North American Stainless plant off Highway 42 East in Ghent, Kentucky.

The governor visited the plant on Wednesday to celebrate the plan that will boost its total production capacity by 20%.

It will also bring 70 new, full-time jobs to the area.

The new equipment and job opportunities are expected to be here by the end of next year.
