【Ferro-alloys.com】:Recent data from the American lron and Steel Institute (AISI) shows a slight week-over-week increase in U.S. crude steel production for the week ending May 4, with output reaching approximately 1.71 million net tons, marking a 0.5% rise from the previous week.
However, this figure represents a 2.9% decline compared to the same week last year. The capacity utilization rate for this period was 77%, slightly up by 0.4% from the prior week but down 1.2% year-over-year. For the year to date, adjusted production totals stood at about 30.26 million net tons, reflecting a 2.9% decrease from the previous year's figures during the same period. The capacity utilization rate has also seen a decrease, standing at 76.3%, which is 1.6% lower than last year.
