[Ferro-alloys.com] The FeSi purchase by all of Chinese major steel mills before Chinese New Year has already finished. The supply of spot goods is still tight, but the market price became lowered from the end of last month because the peak time for purchase passed. The shipment for export contracts is after the end of February, most of which is shipment in March. Market watchers pass on the impression that the purchase volume meant for roundabout products has been reduced in the Chinese market before Chinese New Year, but the impact from this is anticipated to be realized in the Japanese and South Korean markets in half and/or one month.

On the other hand, the price of Chinese low-priced products via the third country is US$1,300 - US$1,360 in the Japanese market, which remained unchanged from the end of last month. This is thought to be because the downward pressure of customers having no feeling of tightness for spot goods of ferro-silicon balanced out the upward pressure of the hike in the purchase price at the time of purchase in China.

The price of Russian products has kept its price according to the market situation in Japan and remained unchanged from the end of prior month.
