It is said that quoted price for electrolytic manganese has generally increased by RMB100-200/mt these days. At present, plants in Hunan, Guizhou and Chongqing mostly ask for RMB12,300-12,500/mt, while RMB12,400/mt for Guangxi and RMB12,600/mt in Ningbo. Transaction price also maintains at above RMB12,200/mt reportedly.

 

According to insiders, the main reason that electrolytic manganese shows upward trend recently is both the effects of better demand from stainless steel mills and environmental inspection in manganese production areas. However, some analysts believe that the actual demand is still at low level and the price would not have much room to increase. It is predicted that domestic price of electrolytic manganese would continue to fluctuate around RMB12,000-12,500/mt.
