[Ferro-Alloys.com] Copper prices on the London Metal Exchange fell in Asian morning trading on Tuesday October 15, as lingering concerns over the US debt ceiling issue outweighed support from Chinese imports.
Three-month LME copper was trading at $7,232.5 per tonne at 03:13 London time, down $14 from its opening price. Chinese imports of unwrought copper and copper fabricated products totalled 457,847 tonnes in September, up 18.1% month-on-month and up 16% year-on-year, according to the latest figures from the country’s customs authority. Import volumes during the month were also at their highest level all year.
