India’s Steel Consumption up Slightly by 0.8% in April-September

It’s reported that India’s steel consumption increased slightly by 0.8% year on year to 36.58 million tons in April-September, affected by weak demand from construction sectors and automobile industry.
 
At the same time, the country’s steel product imports slumped by 25.2% year on year to 2.9 million tons and steel exports decreased by 0.4% to 2.3 million tons.
 
In April-September, India’s crude steel production totaled 40.30 million tons, rising by 6.2% year on year.
