In the week after the long holidays (from 1st to 7th of October) of China, the price of silicon metal was firm and kept the same price as the one before holidays.

As some of small-scale producers of silicon metal slightly lowered offer prices, the steel mills were making a preferential purchase of low-priced products. However, as these low-priced products were in small quantity and thought to disappear soon from the market, many market watchers saw the domestic market would 't be affected much.

Silicon metal lower price dropped by CNY100 per ton on 8th and 9th of October after holidays were over. However, as of October 10, some of producers raised offer prices and the anticipation of a price hike became strong in the market trend. The background for the above seemed to be the consumption will go up due to resumption of operation by aluminium makers.
