China exported 360,000 tonnes of stainless steel in July, down 38,000 tonnes or 9.5% from June, customs data showed.
The decline, which is in line with forecast, was due to summer break in European market, SMM explained.
Stainless steel exports totaled 2.39 million tonnes during January-July, up 8.3%.
In August, prices of Chinese stainless steel are higher than those from South Korea, Thailand, the Middle East, etc. Southeast Asia takes up about 40% of China’s stainless steel exports.
