[ferro-alloys.com] Global crude steel output rose 4 percent to 148 million tonnes in March as Chinese steel mills increased production after the winter production restrictions relieved and the U.S. production business made use of import tariffs to increase output, data from WSA showed. According to WSA, China's crude steel output in March was 74 million tonnes, up 4.5 percent year on year; India's crude steel output rose 5.3% in March; Japan's output rose 2.2%. The U.S. crude steel production rose 5.3 percent to 7.3 million tonnes as the U.S.’s imported quantity has lowered after the U.S. President Donald John Trump imposed high tariffs on imported steel last month.
