[Ferro-alloys.com]In the past ten years, installed power capacity of China has risen from 200 million kw to 1.2 billion kw. Electricity supply limiting is no longer necessary while demand and supply are balanced. Leapfrog development has been achieved in power grid. Under this condition, how to promote reform on power industry further?

An official disclosed recently that further study was still needed in power reform. We should not seek quick success and instant benefits.

Power is one of the important areas that affected people’s livelihood. Its marketisation involves power industry reform, the transformation of government functions and reform of state-owned enterprises.

Currently, resource prices of petroleum, natural gas, wind power, solar and nuclear power are all decided by the government but not market, so bid for power net is still premature.

It would be one or two years before consensus on electric power reform could be formed. Current reform plan lacks of legal support and social consensus, so it is not likely to promote well.
