[Ferro-alloys.com] Russia’s steel production fell 0.4% on the year to 22.9 million tonnes in January–April, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement Tuesday.
Cast iron production increased 0.6% on the year to 16.7 million tonnes in the period, while ferrous metals rolled stock output remained flat at 19.7 million tonnes. Steel pipe output rose 0.4% to 3.2 million tonnes.
Coal mining decreased 3.2% to 113 million tonnes in the period, while metallurgy coke output edged up 0.2% to 8.7 million tonnes.
In 2013, steel production in Russia decreased 2.7% to 68.8 million tonnes.
