[Ferro-Alloys.com] Spain’s output of crude steel in 2013 was up by 1.5% year-on-year, totaled at 13.8 million tons, but the figure is similar to the level back to 1997.
According to Steel Companies Union (UNESID), the growth in 2013 stops consecutive drops of 2 years.
The increase was extremely obvious in the last five months as the averaged increase rate was 16%.
It is good sign for Spain’s steel sector because the performance in 2012 was “very weak” due to close of many plants in the country.
