1. Design and Functional Requirements of Solid Core Metal Calcium Cored Wire
① Take home-made pure calcium silk of ¢7.0-¢7.8mm specification as the core material of cored wire.
② Cold rolling bright steel strip is adopted. Thickness of strip steel is more rational. The diameter is ∮9-10mm with even wire diameter.
③ The product is suitable for the steel categories that ferro-calcium cored wire, silicon calcium cored refine. The yield rate of calcium is improved by over 50%.
④ The existing wire feeding equipment is adopted. Deeper molten steel feeding can be achieved at a low feeding speed. The wire feeding amount is easy to control accurately. The wire feeding process is stable.
⑤ Core wire is compact and packed tightly. It can be stored longer. Use effect is secured.

3. Advantages of Solid Core Metal Calcium Cored Wire:
① With increase of yield rate of calcium element, after feeding solid calcium cored wire, the average yield rate of low-carbon silicon low silicon steel represented by SPHC achieves over 15%. The use effect of calcium is approximately 52% more than silicon calcium cored wire.
② Cost reduction is remarkable. The feeding weight of solid core pure calcium cored wire per ton is only about 38% of silicon calcium cored wire.
③ It is more beneficial to production of pure steel.
④ Blocking in water gap of continuous casting steel can be reduced and eliminated.
⑤ Operation intensity is reduced.
